They have even appointed a part time marketing officer, Hannah Sookias, a PR professional who, like everyone else at the DCB, is deeply involved with the game, which her children play and in which her husband, John, is a coach.
"It's good planning that makes things work," says Sookias.
"When I came here six years ago, the quiet time in the job was actually in the summer. But these days there is no quiet time," he said.

It is Sookias's job to bring in more sponsorship and to raise the profile of the body.

Chance to Shine, meanwhile, is a free coaching service offered for schoolchildren and, with coaches used on an as and when required basis, the DCB are hoping to increase the number of schools, currently around 120, that they take the scheme into.
Dytham, whose title is executive manager, points out that the DCB people take pleasure in their work.
Many of these are run out of the Gateway Centre or at Chellaston Community School but they can also be found at schools and cricket clubs throughout the county.
A scheme called Player Pathway, for instance, is a way for talented players to move through and join up with the Derbyshire Academy the first point at which the county club takes over.
"A lot of what we do is oiling the wheels to help the clubs do things and then, when things happen at a club, people tend not to know that it's something the DCB has been involved in setting up."
One of the first things that needs pointing out is that, while the DCB have offices at the County Ground, they are not part of the county club, nor under the county's auspices.
